SPI will recognise any previous completed unit standards and make sure it shows RPL on your records. RPL standards for recognition of prior learning. See page 24 of this student handbook for more details.
In the near future SPI will have part -time study to allow students that are
already working to complete their study.
Any units that you have successfully completed will be credited to you for your learning and recorded in your record of achievement.
Your work experience will be helpful however you will be required to complete the course requirements; for example all unit standards.
SPII will discuss different options to help you. We have
bus cards to get you to and from school.
Yes. If you require more support we have the New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills Level 2 that you can enrol on before you start the Electrical Pre-Trade level 3.
When you come into the office the receptionist will assist you. You will be required to fill out the SPI enrolment form and bring a birth certificate or passport for proof of your identity.You can also email southpacificislandsinstitute@gmail.com

SPII will has tools and stationery that you can use to carry out the learning and practical work. You will need to supply safety boots. See the tools and stationery list on page 27 of this student handbook.
SPII has support services that can help assist your emotional and mental health matters. Weekly a nurse from Pinnacle health visits the school and provides service for any students wanting the service. If the matter is urgent we will contact the emergency centre and your parents or caregiver and take you immediately.
